Job Description:

As a Backend Server Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the core engine behind Empower’s applications. You will collaborate with a dynamic team to create robust, secure, and user-friendly solutions that serve millions of users. You’ll take ownership of new features from conception to deployment, ensuring they meet company goals post-launch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deploy server application code that integrates with third-party clients and Empower
• Adhere to secure coding practices per the Empower Secure Development Policy
• Conduct ongoing security testing and code reviews to enhance security
• Monitor server application performance and fix bugs as needed
• Minimize defects and enhance reliability through automated tests, code reviews, and architecture improvements
• Manage and maintain the server app build and deployment pipeline
• Collaborate across teams to define, design, and ship features that drive customer and business value
• Define and develop business requirements with stakeholders
• Contribute to API design for server-client interactions
• Architect solutions that integrate with third parties and Empower's mobile client
• Stay up to date with .NET development, industry best practices, and new technology opportunities
• Participate in the server operations on-call schedule

Candidate Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience developing web APIs in .NET (C#)
• Experience with ORMs like Entity Framework
• Proficient in constructing and optimizing RDBMS queries
• Familiar with asynchronous programming models
