As a key member of the Product Marketing team at Newsela, you'll become an expert on the needs and challenges faced by our users and district customers. This expertise will guide the development of our Newsela ELA product and our go-to-market strategies, positioning Newsela as an indispensable solution for our customers and prospects.

Reporting to the Director of Product Marketing, you’ll take charge of distinguishing Newsela ELA in the marketplace through insights from buyers and market analysis, product specifications, marketing content, and sales enablement initiatives. You’ll collaborate with colleagues from the Product and Marketing teams to introduce new products and features with strategic launch and promotional plans that will appeal to our target audiences.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting and synthesizing user, buyer, competitor, and market insights, translating them into product requirements to guide Newsela’s Product roadmap.
  • Leading the planning and execution of go-to-market strategies for Newsela’s product and feature launches.
  • Developing and maintaining product messaging and marketing materials that differentiate Newsela’s literacy solutions in the marketplace.
  • Creating and delivering enablement materials to equip Newsela’s customer-facing teams to effectively communicate our value propositions.
  • Supporting go-to-market efforts to extend Newsela ELA’s reach into international markets.

Why you’ll love this role:

You’ll contribute to solving real challenges in K-12 education, and the highly visible internal and external materials you create will have a direct and significant impact on Newsela’s business. Your work will influence the future of Newsela’s most essential products, beloved by teachers across all 50 states and multiple countries, ensuring they resonate with district decision-makers.

On a typical day, you might collaborate with passionate teammates from Product Management and Design, Sales and Customer Success, Business Development, and, of course, Marketing. You’ll have the chance to share insights that enhance Newsela’s product and user experience, directly affecting engagement and usage of Newsela products in K-12 classrooms nationwide.

Why you’re a great fit:

You hold a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field. You’re a collaborative marketer with at least five years of experience in B2B Product Marketing, ideally with some of that time focused on K-12 education. You have experience launching new products and features, developing product value propositions, and building and maintaining buyer personas.

You’ve created a wide range of marketing assets, from sales enablement resources and competitive analysis tools to webinars and product videos, and you enjoy analyzing marketing performance data to determine which content and formats resonate most with your target audiences. You’re a natural communicator with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to distill complex information into compelling narratives. You are organized and collaborative, adept at managing complex, interdependent projects and juggling multiple workstreams.

You have a user-focused mindset and a strong desire to deliver valuable experiences to users, making a meaningful impact in K-12 education.

Base compensation: $90,000 - $100,000. Total compensation for this role also includes incentive stock options and benefits. This range may be adjusted based on actual experience.
