We're seeking a Staff Analog Design Engineer to join the Impinj silicon engineering team, where you'll contribute to developing the next generation of tag and reader chips. Our team is a group of top-tier silicon designers who are passionate about their work and foster a collaborative, fun environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to define and architect advanced RFID reader ICs.
  • Draft and review design specifications and related documentation.
  • Design low-power, low-voltage RF and Analog circuits using cutting-edge deep-submicron CMOS technologies.
  • Validate product functionality and performance by characterizing designs in the lab.
  • Work closely with digital and software teams to ensure the implementation meets system requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience coupled with a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
  • Advanced understanding of RF transceiver system-level requirements, translating them into circuit-level specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Practical experience in designing RF/Analog integrated circuits, such as LNA, Mixer, RF VGAs, PA, VCO, PLL, Regulators, ADC/DAC, using deep sub-micron CMOS technologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of phase noise generation and mitigation fundamentals.
  • Expertise in IC design CAD tools like Spectre, SpectreRF, and EMX.
  • A deep understanding of physical layout requirements.
  • Proficient lab testing skills to evaluate prototypes against design specifications, including software skills for lab equipment control to ensure accurate, repeatable, and presentable results.
  • A motivated team player with strong communication and presentation skills, capable of handling a variety of tasks in a dynamic environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The base pay range for this role in the U.S. is typically between $129,000 and $200,000, depending on factors like role complexity, responsibilities, required skills, and relevant experience. New hire offers start within this range.
  • At Impinj, certain positions qualify for additional rewards, such as merit increases, annual bonuses, and stock options, all based on individual performance. Some roles may also include sales incentives tied to revenue or utilization targets.
