As a Technical Product Marketing Manager at Sourcegraph, you'll immerse yourself in one of the most exciting current market opportunities: generative AI for developer tools. This competitive area requires Product Marketing to shape our product narrative and produce clear, impactful content, which is crucial to our success. If you're passionate about generative AI, developer tools, and Marketing—particularly in messaging, storytelling, and sales enablement—this position is perfect for you.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Sales teams. You'll act as the customer advocate within Sourcegraph and establish a strong feedback loop among Sales, Product, and Marketing. Your deep understanding of our products, combined with customer feedback, will guide our marketing strategy and content creation in the generative AI domain.

You will be a central content creator within the Marketing team, focusing on our enterprise clients. Your responsibilities will include writing blogs, whitepapers, technical reports, and presentation decks to support marketing and sales efforts. Additionally, you’ll develop demo flows, talk tracks, and webinar content that emphasize our product’s strengths and align with trends and use cases for generative AI.

This role offers substantial potential to enhance our company's knowledge of generative AI and strengthen our brand in this field. You'll play a strategic role in shaping our product narrative while also engaging in tactical work, producing content that fosters developers' interest and awareness of Cody, particularly in the enterprise segment.

What You Will Achieve:

Within One Month:

  • Gain expertise in Cody, understanding its strengths and limitations.
  • Start researching new use cases for Cody through customer interactions and feedback.

Within Three Months:

  • Regularly participate in customer and Sales team calls.
  • Share insights and learnings with the Marketing team during weekly check-ins.
  • Publish several in-depth technical blog posts on generative AI use cases and best practices.
  • Begin working on a comprehensive industry research report.

Within Six Months:

  • Publish a report on industry trends and research.
  • Develop and present content for webinars targeting prospects.
  • Create best practice resources for Sales and Customer Engineering teams, such as whitepapers on Cody’s optimal usage for various languages and development tasks.

Within One Year:

  • Establish a formal feedback loop among Sales, Marketing, and Product teams.
  • Consistently produce high-quality content that engages developers and appeals to an enterprise audience.
  • Develop and maintain a demo flow and talk track for Cody used by field sellers and marketers at trade shows.
  • Contribute to the Sourcegraph website, collaborating with the Product Marketing team to create new webpages based on your product use case insights.

About You:

You have a technical background with a strong interest in customer engagement and go-to-market strategies. Your enthusiasm for generative AI and its applications is evident, and you’re keen on conducting research in this area. You’re a skilled storyteller with excellent communication abilities and a passion for B2B technology or developer tools.

Must-Haves:

  • Strong writing skills, as effective communication through writing is crucial for a Product Marketing Manager.
  • Experience with code, whether through professional work, education, or personal interest, to better understand and empathize with developers.
  • Excitement for a role with high agency, involving new and creative approaches to research and content creation.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers.
  • Willingness to handle both strategic and hands-on tasks, including research, content creation, customer calls, and webinars.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • 3-5 years of experience in technical marketing or a related customer-facing role, with a background in corporate or startup environments.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS or developer tools, or working on products for developers.
  • Experience creating technical content to support sales teams.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic startup environment with evolving products and priorities.

Compensation:

We offer competitive salaries to attract top talent, ensuring that our team is focused on helping Sourcegraph succeed. Our salary ranges are transparent to all Sourcegraph employees. Your salary will be based on your level, skills, experience, and location, with a target compensation range of $95,256 - $126,800 USD. Salary ranges are subject to change.
