Localize is looking for a dynamic and growth-oriented Sales Engineer to join our remote team based in the US. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you'll be an integral part of the pre-sales process, offering technical expertise and support to both the sales team and potential clients. You'll work closely with account executives, clients, and internal product teams to design and deliver impactful product demonstrations, develop tailored solutions, and ensure our product meets clients' technical requirements.

In this role, you'll collaborate across departments such as marketing, customer success, and engineering. Responsibilities may also include post-sale onboarding, creating technical marketing materials, and relaying customer feedback to product and engineering teams.

We’re seeking a candidate with a strategic, growth-focused mindset, balancing strong technical skills, sales acumen, and excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Join sales calls to assess clients' technical needs and challenges.
  • Deliver product demos that showcase Localize's technical capabilities and value.
  • Gather technical requirements and propose custom solutions.
  • Develop proof of concepts (POCs) to demonstrate product fit for client needs.
  • Partner with sales reps to strategize on prospect engagement and create tailored technical solutions.
  • Produce technical documentation, alignment documents, and other sales materials.
  • Serve as a bridge between sales, product, and marketing teams, providing valuable insights and feedback.
  • Support clients through the entire sales lifecycle, from pre-sales to post-sales, ensuring they maximize our product.
  • Assist with onboarding and offer technical guidance when necessary.
  • Contribute to product development discussions and help shape the roadmap based on client feedback.
  • Announce new features to the public and engage developers with product excitement.
  • Aid the marketing team in creating white papers, technical manuals, and other materials.
  • Write blog posts, record videos, and contribute to the company’s social media presence.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • Technical Pre-Sales or Sales Engineering experience:
    • 2+ years in roles such as SaaS pre-sales engineer, sales engineer, or similar, supporting sales with technical expertise.
    • Knowledge of software development, APIs, and integration methods.
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with a strong understanding of web technologies, cloud platforms, and development frameworks.
    • A consultative approach to solving customer business challenges with a proven record of overcoming technical and security objections.
  • Sales and Business Acumen:
    • Familiarity with the enterprise SaaS ecosystem.
    • Proven client-facing experience, particularly in pre-sales, sales engineering, or technical consulting.
    • Knowledge of the sales cycle, from discovery to closing.
    • Strong ability to build client relationships, understand needs, and address concerns effectively.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Excellent communication and written skills.
    • Strong presentation and demo skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
    • Experience creating technical documentation, writing statements of work (SOWs), and scoping custom requirements.
    • Act as a liaison between Product, Marketing, and Sales, sharing feedback to shape the product roadmap.
  • Project Management:
    • Experience managing technical projects and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Content Creation:
    • Experience creating reusable marketing assets, such as blog posts, webinars, and demo sites, for a technical audience is a plus.
